Ironed with the steam iron last night. You should try one! They iron so effortlessly that the pain is almost taken out of ironing. You can let clothes, heavy ones even with much starch in them, get bone dry and then just iron away. The only hitch is that you should use distilled water. I have been borrowing it from the Cederstrands but Hack must get some for me soon. The former owner of the iron didn't use distilled water and the edges of the iron were stained and the inside somewhat encrusted (holes for steam somewhat clogged); we use vinegar to get it out. 

Our crawfish are growing, but one has died. They eat very well, and are much bolder. 

Penelope keeps catching young English sparrows. She yowls at the door in a particular way and you guess it; you let her in and she trots proudly by with the unhurt bird. When you take it away she is simply furious, so mad that you have to lock her up while you put it outside, and then she rushed out and scours the place trying to find it, letting out unearthly howls all the time. Was Paddypaws like that?
