took a series of flash-bulb pictures of her in another room which she seemed to enjoy. They came out well -- 4 of them. When we [[strikethrough]] have [[/strikethrough]] get the negatives [[strikethrough]] developed [[/strikethrough]] we will send you copies; Jack can make copies in the light lab of the Physics building real cheap (where we made our X-mas cards). We must send the original to the Finks, who have been begging for news of their kitty.

A few weeks ago a strange girl came down our steps, following Penelope home, & since that we have been getting to know the Wiener's, both physics students, who own a Siamese named Susie. We were just observing Susie this evening. Animals certainly are individuals! Susie is a plump, dark Siamese, spayed, rather lethargic [[strikethrough]] but [[/strikethrough]] except on two subjects: dogs and white pipe cleaners. She is always on the lookout for dogs & will attack & chase them whenever possible. She has a local German shepherd terrorized. As for pipe cleaners, they are the only toy which she likes, & she adores them. Take one out & the quiet beast becomes vibrant with anticipation. She retrieves them when you throw them too. Her owners think that [[strikethrough]] she [[/strikethrough]] they symbolize her children [[strikethrough]] by them [[/strikethrough]], since after her kittens were gone she used to carry cleaners around like kittens.

Well, between our car & our cat we have used up the page.

Love,
Doris
