Dear folks,

Jack is getting ready for a French test tomorrow. He is straightening out his "subjonctifs". Penelope just "buried" an ash tray. She "buries" anything she disapproves of by making covering (paw) motions all around it and, lately, by pushing it off whatever it's on. Among her many dislikes are all human food (including the nice lemon pie I just baked), ashes, coffee, wine (good little Puritan that she is), dirt, & water. 

Corpus Christi & other Texas towns sound worse than Champaign, Illinois -- flatter, even less trees. We do have a few trees, but some places, like Flatville (!) have fewer. Are peccaries found often in Texas?

Tonight we have just about decided to get a car. There is a used Volkswagen, gray, 1954 with sun-roof, for sale for $1250. If, as the dealer says, it is in good shape, it is a real buy. The dealer is a personal friend of the Cederstrands & an honest man. The
