Volkswagen generally depreciates about $100 a year, so $1250 is very good (should be $1480 or, at more reasonable rate, $1400).  We, or Jack, will see it & drive it tomorrow or Friday.  If it looks good -- we buy.  If it turns out that there is anything really wrong, $106 buys a complete new engine you can put in yourself.  It is rare to see used sun-roofs (which is what we want) so we had better grab this one rather than shelling out $1680 for a new one.  Maybe we will be driving to Chicago this weekend...at 30 miles to the gallon.  That thing will almost pay for itself in gas.  Jack says he will try to teach me to drive, saving more money...he wouldn't want to teach me to drive our present monstrosity.  Passing the parking part of a driving test would be relatively easy with a Volkswagen too.  Can be cornered at 40mph (right angle turn).

Well, I don't know whether to hope you get a large hawk or not now.
