Dear Folks

Well, exam period is almost over & all has gone well. Jack has taken 3 of his four exams and received two B's and an A. One B was in a undergraduate course, so to date he has 2 A's [[strikethrough]] in graduate [[/strikethrough]] & one B in his graduate work. In order to be accepted as a Ph D candidate you have to have several A's. We knew a fellow with all B's who was rejected. He may get an A on the last course - & is working hard at it now. The last exam isn't until Saturday morning. 

We have a little snow on the ground still which seems as if it has been here a week. I believe it snowed last Friday, It is too cold to really loosen it up. Penelope goes out for a few minutes each day, when she is not in heat (she has been twice) in the last 2 mos.); she is funny. [[strikethrough]] First, she sleren [[/strikethrough]] When the door is opened she shrinks back as from a physical blow; then she walks out. at the top step she run into snow & begins shaking her feet; then she was in front of our kitchen window & begins eating dry grass. In summer it is cosy before that window & the grass tastes good, but she is such a creature of habit that she takes the identical course in winter. Incidentally, she is quite well now on a diet of liver and kidneys, We will mate her the next time she comes in heat, which should be a few weeks from now. We have a male Siamese lined up. The lady who owns him charges $15 or one kitten;
