We heard from Sophy, but unfortunately Jack had thrown the envelope away and taken out the trash when I came home so I will still have to get her new address from you.

Jack looks wierd. He has not had a haircut for such a long time that he looks as if he were growing a field of dry grass, or perhaps [[strikethrough]] an [[/strikethrough]] a bronze [[strikethrough]] brush [[/strikethrough]] clothes brush [[strikethrough]] ! [[/strikethrough]]

There was snowfall again today, about our third or fourth light snow.

I am really sorry to hear of your week of joint sicknesses. I guess you haven't felt much like writing Xmas cards.

Work is stepping up for Jack, so we haven't done much outside lately. We visited our friends who are expecting a baby momentarily, and the girl sewed some buttonholes on a baby sweater I am making for another girl on her machine. They have wonderful attachments for sewing buttonholes. She has been sewing steadily to take care of her own and her children's needs after the event making little overalls for her two girls and a robe for herself. You can certainly save money on children's clothes if you can sew: they cost as much as adult's if bought.

Well, tonight we have stew beef in the pressure cooker. I'd better get to it.

Love,
Doris
