called the Home-Coming weekend. There is a big football game (as usual) and alumni come back in large numbers. As it happened, it rained hard all weekend and cleared up on Monday. Friends Fred Davis and Alex Leondis came from Chicago. Fred slept at our place, Alex with his brother and wife. His brother, Paul, has been acting as vet to Penelope recently, as he is getting his D.V.M. in June. We ate Sat. night at Paul's and Sunday night at our place, Paul bringing wife and two small girls too. So it was a big shin-dig. We also went to the Unitarian Church with Fred on Sunday morning.

Yes, I think Jack could wear a size 15. It's a nice idea!

We have a system known as Green Stamps here. They are given in many stores, more importantly in the supermarkets, and when you collect a book of them (representing about $90 of purchases) you get a choice of items. We have almost reached that state, one more trip to Eisner's (gorcery) will do it, and we will get our first premium, a new dictionary. For 1 1/2 books I will next get two sofa curtains or a new bedspread. In a year we should get quite a few things.

I think Jack will have a word. No, he won't.

Love,
Doris
