Dear folks,

I guess we haven't written for a while. We've been pretty pressed with work and are not likely to be less so for a while. I will be completely finished June 2, but Jack must begin his most serious study after that date -- up to June 10 -- & I will be making a sail and packing while he studies, no small tasks.

No thanks, I won't need the oxfords. Mainly shoes need to protect & support the ankles, and no shoes I have come that high. I want a little protection against snake bite. We'll probably take a kit of equipment too (blood pumps, etc). We will take 612, glad to be reminded of that.

Fred Hermann would have enjoyed the musical we attended Tuesday night.. Bach's "St Matthew Passion." Besides being Bach, there was an organ and harpsichord taking the place of the usual orchestra. We should have gone to more musical events this year, but just recently started. Most are free. We went to Mozart's "Magic Flute" about a week ago; the present tenants of our new apt. were in it, the girl being the leading female vocalist. I don't imagine either of you agree with Hermann's views on Bach, but the Passion is a very moving and romantic piece, forceful; not arithmetic.

We do hope we get a few strawberries!
