Jack is particularly busy now preparing for a talk he has to give in 1 1/2 days. He had the occasion to discuss it with the instructor today & the instructor said, "Oh, you won't take long, will you? You're just going to show a few pictures." (Jack's talk is to be on a big term paper he did involving solving a complicated physics problem on the digital computer (Illiac) and ends with a series of pictures made on an oscilloscope showing his results.) Jack half thinks he should have kept his mouth shut, but he had been treated with less than full respect, having his speech postponed twice, so he said that he had a good deal to say. he had to explain the Runga-Cutta method of solving equations which he used. Whenever the professor looked surprised I told him to be sure to explain it thoroughly. Jack had planned on discussing it sketchily, but now he will settle down to a really unesty talk describing the quite complicated method -- which he found described only in 1) German [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] in a book by Runga and 2) English by an Egyptian professor in an old tome. I think he will make a good impression tho'!

We are starting finals in Art courses; finished one today, in design painting; started 2 clay projects for design sculpture; & began a drawing final. Must get back to it all.
