Dear folks,
Thank goodness for company, or I would never get any house cleaning done! We are having the DeWits and Rogers over tonight for a slide show, so at present I am doing everything - cleaning stove (for first time since mammoth cleaning it first got), rewaxing part of living room floor that shows (about 4 sq feet), dusting, vacuuming, washing fruit in fruit bowl, making ice cream, your little cakes, cracker cheese dip, amazing Halloween display, washing few clothes, etc. We will have popcorn, crackers + cheese dip, cider, cakes, soft drinks, ice cream & apples tonight, as one of the DeWit's favorite party activities, they freely admit, is eating, & I have let them down in the past.

The season is further advanced here than in Washington. Most of the leaves are gone and I put on my winter coat. There has been no rain for two months, an is usual during the autumn here -- but it makes up for it in the spring.
