glad to hear that Dolores has moved at last. I guess that was a job.
I don't know whether I mentioned it before, but across the street from our Court there is a Zoological building (don't know what) with a front yard enclosed with a tall black metal fence. There are two concrete-bottom ponds in it, each perhaps 30 feet across. 2 hen cages house about 8 mallards and the same number of gulls; many of both are young and were raised there. all are pinioned. When I began smelling "sea breezes" on the campus I wondered... but found the answer there. The ponds are full of plants, + the ducks are always feeding, but the gulls have struck off their beats along the fence and wait there for the handouts they sometimes get, mewing from time to time. They are pleased to be given anything, and will fight over dry leaves. A little girl gave one a toy of hers once and was very much hurt when the gull would not give it back to her.
Well, there are things yet to do-
Love,
Doris
