Dear folks,

It has been sprinkling or cloudy much of the time since we arrived. Fortunately last Thursday cleared up for me to wash, as I hope tomorrow will again.

All the elms in the immediate vicinity are dead or dying and the power saws along the avenue up northward began at 7 a m. That was a pretty avenue.

Our trip to Chicago was brief. We arranged our stored items and Jack carefully packed his ship models (40?) and brought them here until her moving is over. She has written or will write you about the new place. It is rented from a friend of the family. She sold her car finally, Friday.

We still haven't gotten the films of Washington, garden, people. The roll is not finished. We did see the river & canal & Dol & Nick shots, which were all good.
