Marguerite, Elsie Starck. We also visited and went swimming with other friends on Saturday (party on Sunday). The lake water was quite swimmable, tho' you couldn't stay in long. Jack was and still is extremely eager to swim - and that was our first swim of the year. He grew up there & misses it.

Also on Saturday, a very packed day, we purchased a camera after several months' deliberation -- one which makes slides to fit our giant old (and good) projector -- 2 1/4" x 2 1/4", not 35 mm. We got a used Rollei cord, (which probably means nothing!) with a close-up attachment & a 30-day trial period. So lately we have been busy testing its optical qualities. I practiced getting flies and bees on swaying flowers (close-up) and Jack took some delightful black-and-white pictures of a brick wall at controlled distances, shutter openings, etc. We shall bring the projector with us & show you our efforts. We mean to take pictures on the trip.

From Jack's exclamation I feel our vacation plans are wobbling but nothing definite as yet to report.
Must run.

Love
Doris

P.S. I think we'll avoid Canada and have a little more time in D.C.
