as far gone as it was that last time. That was the time I found the old projector (slide) which had been discarded and, according to the records, disposed of years ago; the same now awaits final revamping by Jack, something which he plans to do in the near future (it's been a long time!). I presume we can bring it to D.C. to show slides if we have any. So it wasn't all work that time, but this time I haven't found anything I want. Currently I would like to find an old fan for its motor to be used in cooling the projector.

On the evening of the fourth we went to the Stadium along with thousands of other people (filled the place) to see a fireworks display. It was a very good one, a cool windy night with the wind in the right direction. They had a match-lighting ceremony for the audience which was also quite attractive. It sounds as though the fireworks display you had on Theodore Roosevelt Island was good, a better location than before.

I haven't seen any Jap beetles around here, perhaps they don't reach so far.

When there isntt much to do in the office I do some Russian. One has to keep after a language, but my word lists do get learnt, principally on long trips to Chicago, and I am steadily improving. I'm afraid we won't get to Russia for at least six years, a provision of Jack's having worked for an intelligence agency. Next fall I plan to take two advanced physics courses so many become more valuable as a physics translator.

Well, typing takes up less room than writing so I guess there isn't any more else to say.

Love,
Doris

I'm not sure if we transcribe the watermark or not, so I kept it out of the transcription.
