Dear Folks,

The weather here is being very rainy & cool. The lady downstairs, who has diapers today, is complaining bitterly. Since I drive to work it has been no problem to me, & it managed to be dry on my last laundry day.

The starling hasn't been released yet because he hasn't mastered flying yet. He feeds himself entirely and is an excellent ant catcher, could probably feed himself outdoors. However for him trees do not exist. Twice now the black cat next door has very cleverly outwitted us and almost snapped him up.. he will only fly a short way and sit down again. He stays quite close to us and likes to perch on us. He also enjoys a bath. He pecks at shiny objects, which we figured came from the fact that he was formerly fed only by teenagers. He tries to pry open every crack, including the fingers and toes. To sit on the lamp is heavenly to him, & he extends his wings langorously [[languorously]] , and almost to under the bulb.
