Dear folks,
The East was certainly hit badly! Out here things have been chilly but quite clear, or a little snow flurry which didn’t collect. One of the fellows in Jack’s group went east for his bride during your big storm; I don’t know whether he’s gotten back or not. I can imagine it would be very unpleasant to be without heat.

We are having an Easter vacation from April 2-7 and will get to Chicago for a couple of days. Jack’s experimental work will [[strikethrough]] keep pic [[/strikethrough]] keep him here the rest of the time. Lately he’s been having quite a hard life. Mr. Frauenfelder gives an assignment a week in his course, and tho' some of the boys work on it in a group, Jack won't, and consequently has all he can do to keep up, and do a good job -- which others don't do. He's been up every night on it lately, until quite late.

I think I will write to Nick & Dolores anyway. There are two Italians in Jack's office, his immediate supervisor being one, and we.
