got to talking about how to make pizza the other day, Renato claiming that his family's way was found only in a certain area in Italy; but Nick's method is very similar, so I wanted to check. Renato isn't Jack's boss, just a fellow grad student. He is a big, intensely serious (married) fellow; never goes to coffee with the gang and could easily be teased, I guess.

I saw that the vouchers were written out for my first Russian translation today -- $75. I am fairly well along on the second one, which is in math and fairly easy. Mrs. Sobatka is terribly bored with these very technical articles, & doesn't hesitate to make faces at them. She is really a very nice woman. I think her husband works in Chicago; he comes down every week end & they lead a fast social life all week end, full of dinners, banquets, etc. She's in her fifties, I guess.

We had the Cederstrands to dinner last week end and I think that we will have an evening of "making jewelry" of the enamel type with the DeWits this week end. Gloria has a little kiln & makes loads of jewelry.

Hope the weather becomes better. I still think the flight would be more relaxing?

Love,
Doris
