Dear folks,

It seems a long way from spring here on campus, but at least it is warm enough & day enough to bicycle.

My Russian translating has had a brief and extensive history since last week. At the end, I am in a very good position: I have the two jobs, a 15-page math and 35-page physics article, which should net me over $100; have dropped Russian 104 and taken up Russian 306, This new Russian class consists of 4 of us brining in our scientific (as letters) translation for individual connection three times a week (together), which could not be better! I get Jack's checking for scientific "sense", me. Sobotka's check for accuracy, and pay besides! Mrs. Sobotka hinted she might recommend me on a translator to some society which might give me work this summer. The Am. Math. Society turned me down, by the way.

We can use the extra money and I have long wanted to make some contribution during the years, especially since a full-time summer
