Dear folks,

I wonder how you happened to see Jim's article? He has just been made home editor, or something like that, a great pleasure for him; he was sick of being in charge of men's fashions! He gets a by-line in about every issue, at least. Since he is probably also in the market for a home himself, it is a very practical job too!

I suppose you may have heard from Maywrite of Ann's stoke (Shirley's mother), just after they moved to retirement in their new Wisconsin home. She is recovering, with physical therapy, the use of counts or limbs.

For four days now it has been like spring - up to 50° or 60° at midday. Sunday we went to Lake of the Woods ( along with thousands of other people), and watched ice-fishing and skating at 60°. The ground was mushy over the frozen underlayer & very dirty to walk on. We were hoping to get new pond water for our aquarium (which is low but swarming with microscopic life) but were of course unable to. Maybe week end. We drove with the top down for the first time this year, anyway.
