Dear folks,

Glad that you are having a restful, pleasant time. We too are, finally, [[strikethrough]] also [[/strikethrough]]. The painting, sanding, puttying and curtain making are over & a few clean-up jobs alone remain. The change is marked; instead of a quite unrespectable apartment we now have a bearable one with shiningly clean walls. The bathroom is my favorite: pure white walls & fixtures, a black tile floor, sheer, violet-paint red and blue curtains, a rich pink rug; and the interior of the cabinet is pink, brown, and red, with a 6-inch reproduction of a red cyclopoid copepod affixed to the back of the door over the toothbrushes!

Saturday night we were invited to the [[strikethrough]] home [[/strikethrough]] apt. of the De Wit's, whom I have mentioned before. They showed us their slide collection of a trip there thru the Smokies last summer-- maybe 300 slides. It was a beautiful job, some pictures really very artistic. They have an excellent camera which enabled Roland to take some night & late evening shots of trees, sunsets, etc. of amazing beauty. We had a very fine evening & will invite them to dinner here in a week or two.
