Dear folks,

We didn't get your letter until Friday and were beginning to get worried. I guess the mail was slow.

Everything is working out beautifully so far. I got an "A" in math, out of a class of 12 where there were 2 "A"'s. 2 "B's", 3 "C's, 2 "D's" and 3 "E's", so I felt pretty good. In Physics I also got an "A", much to my surprise. I flunked the second (of two) hour exams and was expecting no better than a "B" grade. However, as they say, I must have "aced" the final! Don't know what I got in Russian but it was probably an "A". So my record here is still pretty good.
Jack got the highest grade in the final in Frauenfilder's class in nuclear physics, was third man in the class for the semester, and got an A+ in the course. His relations with Frauenfilder are getting better and better, as you can imagine. But he won't feel like celebrating until he gets the proficiency passed; he takes that exam tomorrow.
My house decorating is going very well also, if slowly. Wednesday, in a grueling 12 - hour stretch, I painted the living room. It involved sanding and puttying baseboards, window frames, and
