one door had to be planed so that finally, after all these months, it latches. I painted the wall with the window white - took two coats. In that wall the window frame is also white, and a white filmy curtain (washed & started) hangs form a polished brass rod. A black wall lamp hangs bu the window. The walls perpendicular to this white wall I painted a "hot chocolate" brown. The deck red couch glows against [[crossed-out]] The [[/crossed-out]] one wall, & a bookcase is against the other. The wall containing the entrance & closet doors is a lighter brown (the other brown plus white). All doors are still white, but baseboards match walls, taking away the "trim" effect. We are both quite pleased with this room. I bought some lovely violet pattern (red & blue - two) shear nylon material to make bathroom curtains and will be painting the bathroom a clean white all over today. I am also shortening & mending the shier white bedroom curtains & probably up their reds too. I think the place will be a real pleasure to look at before many days are over.

As for the "accident" Dolores spoke of, a man giving us a push (just before we got a new battery on a cold day) damaged the rear end & Jack had to work to straighten it out. I assure we are not concealing "accidents"!

Now I'll get back to my favorite hobby of decorating. May take some color photos to show you the place.

Love,
Doris
