We have a very large number of projects to do. I am painting living room and bathroom (landlord providing paint), which also includes scraping peeling paint, sandpapering wood & filling nail holes, etc. ; then I want to make bathroom window curtains, a new cloth seat for out butterfly chair, upholstery covering for a landlord chair, frames cut of wood stripping for pictures, and a few other odd things; I also intend to take to pieces and clean, scrape, paint and oil my bicycle, which has has had use every day. Jack wants to set a few salvage pieces to make his back bumper higher (from junk yard), put together out slide projector (use bought a couple of lenses to make it complete which just arrived), assemble pieces from the three old radio we have accumulated into one which works... We'd also like to build a little low "cocktail" table. Also, I have not yet once washed a waxed my kitchen or dining room floor... So the minute my finals are over I will be extremely busy. Luckily we have most materials for these projects. We'll go to Chicago for a few days. A distant relative there who works in a dress shop has a coat for me I've never yet collected - a gift! At least, I think she still has it.

Well, I must get back to studying. The Drake girls sob story doesn't impress me much. Life is tough for us all! This is a time of the year for repair and "retrenchment".

Love,
Doris
