pair of summer weight nylon ones & winter weight blue [?] (65%) from Sears. He didn't take off [[strikethrough]] eh [[/strikethrough]] either for me to wash until just now I grabbed them; worn for two months! They pay for themselves in not having to go to the laundry & drying without pressing overnight. The dacron ones don't look synthetic & are really tough & durable. Both seem to shed dirt.

Read interesting tho' not too technically well written book by Kincaid - Spider, Egg and Microcosm, about the Russian-born scientists Petrunkovich, Romanoff, & Vishniac. Interesting how Russian words of several syllables chose the most inconvenient syllable [?] for the accent. Petrunkovich being a case. [[strikethrough]] u [[/strikethrough]] Am interested in finding out from Jack's grandfather if my pronunciation is improving. Last year, one teacher was a Russian, but with an [[strikethrough]] di [[/strikethrough]] accent of some sort; Jack's grandfather didn't sound like her at all. Of course he has been away a while & wasn't a Russian, but he was a linguist. This year, Mrs. Sobotka sounds much more like him & I am beginning to sounds more like her. We read aloud a lot & eventually, perhaps, I will get a fair pronunciation.

Hope Dad has recovered & you haven't gotten the cold, Mother.

Love,
Doris
