Dear Folks, 
It seems to me that whenever Jack has a big exam of some sort there's a world crisis. Last fall, the week of his qualifying, there was the Egypt invasion and the Hungarian revolt. This year with his two proficiency exams, there are all the Russian satellites. I hope you are pronouncing "sputnik" correctly after your Russian study. Mme Sobotka came in muttering angrily. "Sputnik, sputnik that's what they all say."

Friends of the Cedarstrands who operate ham radio have been picking up the beeps of both satellites, and came over to inform me of the second one Sunday (we hadn't listened to the radio). I bet Richard Taylor has been busy at it. 

Anyway , after Jack's Friday proficiency we will have a small crowd after and have a party: about seven people. I will make a pizza pie for the first time. There has been a sale of the pans and mixes in the grocery lately. We haven't seen any [[strikethrough]] pan [[/strikethrough]] company for such a long time What with exams and few, it will be very good to have some.

I guess I will go to the Physics wives' club meeting next week, but those girls certainly
