Dear folks,

Interesting to hear of your evening at Mrs. Weisz's. What is she doing now? Glad Dad described the food. Speaking of omelets, I finally bought one of those little flower-pots of chives and have been using it for omelets perhaps once a week for about a month. They seem to grow forever. Isn't that one of the French omelets we had in Paris?

My cooking of late has consisted of warming up cans of soup or corned beef hash: I'm just convalescing from the Asian flu, and Jack is in the very middle of the disease. I've had it 5 days, not a terrible fever, but a persistent one, much ache & cough & sniff. His case is less severe so far. It came at the most inconvenient time for me, just before two hour exams. I could barely study. Last night was the first exam. I drove to it (got my license about two weeks ago, I forgot to mention it) since it was too chilly to walk or cycle. It seemed quite easy. Today I feel better, more appetite, and shall go on studying. I don't go to classes.

Jack passed his German proficiency, and is now trying to get ready for his thermodynamics
