proficiency, which comes in 1 1/2 weeks. He doesn't appreciate being sick either, but it's fortunate he has it now and not at the time of the exam. My Dad could have the vaccine it might be a good idea. We had it available here too late, and I didn't want to go in to the clinic (full of cases) to get shots.

It's been such a long time since we've been out & seen anything or anybody I feel like a hermit. Fortunately, we bought a thermometer & a stock of canned goods for this emergency, & they are all going to be used. As soon as I'm well I can drive out & get more stuff. When the Laerishs visited us last week end (2 weeks), I had my first solo driving experience, & what a one! It was Homecoming Weekend, a big football game at 1:30 and all the alumni in town. I went to the laundry & the markets at 12:30, in a crawling mob with a policeman at every corner. At one big intersection I stalled three times and really got under the skin of the policeman...had to park 4 times & just made it. That's the way to begin, they say!

Well, hope you continue well.

Love,
Doris
