She is teaching German & Russian at Perdue, and overworking as usual but enjoying it. She was a fine teacher. Mme Sobotka, who now teaches, is also excellent. Did I tell you about our text? It is straight from Moscow, and full of propaganda, but also very well-organized and full of contemporary vocabulary. We are reading about education in Russia, over-fulfillment of quotas, and other glorious things-- quite dull but the sort of thing Russian newspapers are full of, says Mme Sobotka.

Jack is doing some work on equipment for his project now, and fairly busy.

I have found a new way of serving mashed potatoes that might interest you: I cook the peeled potatoes with a big onion, mash all together with butter (margarine). The onion contributes to taste but can't be seen.
