Dear folks,

Well, my notification came thru from Civil Service at last, that I passed. I have written to Chicago asking to transfer my records (I am anxious lest they take 2 months to do that, too) & to Washington to the Bureau of Standards.

Other words which have come in TB X-ray o.k. (hope I can talk the government out of another do you think I can?); health exam o.k.; new glasses (one pane only) prepared. You haven’t yet told me if you set up dental appointments. Here you have to make an appointment at least a month in advance but it may not be as bad in D.C. I finally saved enough stamps for a double-bed contour sheet & am enjoying making the bed for a change. It fits better than yours did. Glad you have a meat grinder; [[strikethrough]] but [[/strikethrough]] I will only have to bring my oak chopping block along, I guess. It surely saves a knife edge!

I am amazed at the High's prices. Here a gallon is over 80¢ when you buy by the gallon, as we do.
