We're having plentiful rain here, almost every day, alternating with cool, sunny, windy days that are marvelous.

It certainly is maddening about the little pines [[?]]. As you say, there's nothing to be done. At least, you have gained a strong moral advantage.

Do you have a meat grinder? If not, I'll bring that one you gave me. I have been getting used to grinding my own hamburg out of fat-free meat, so it tastes like steak (at half the price) & would like to continue doing so. I probably won't be able to cook many meals because of getting home too late, but perhaps on weekends I can do more cooking.

There was the general Physics Dept picnic last Saturday, which we attended for the first time. A lot of sports, soccer & volleyball & baseball, jr. staff (Jack, etc) against sr. staff. Some of the Big Wigs looked quite different in tee shirts. Jack's future boss, Frauenfelder, plays a terrific game of soccer. A few minutes of that game ruined Jack for the weekend.

Well-

Love
