Dear folks,

Well, summer has come here too. Fortunately it is still cool at night, but I expect we'll be putting up the landlady's window fan soon, as we are on the west side of the house.

I found a cute little straw summer bag in the dime store. It has a lacey effect on side & top like so [[image - sketch of handbag]] and a boy in Russian class volunteered to cover the interstices with clear plastic which he (Mr. Coleman) did. It looks very summery now.

Did I tell you that I am making a summer blouse? Some time ago I bought some very cheap but attractive blue & white cotton to make [[strikethrough]] a [[/strikethrough]] two laundry bags. I had a lot left over (decided on only one bag) so decided to make a blouse. Funny, the material cost about 40ยข but the pattern & buttons cost $1.50.... Well, I am making it on Beatrice's sewing machine and am 1/2 done, will finish this Saturday. It looks like so: front & back
