Dear folks,

We've had cold, Marchy weather right along, and yesterday freeaing rain fell upon the trees -- that is, it froze on the trees only -- & a strong wind strewed the ground with ice fragments. I decided that was a good day to take care of administrative details, & it was: no one busy.

The application forms you got were the result of a bungling administration here, which I finally got settled. I asked in February to be made a regular student and candidate for B.S. in math with a physics minor. The college (Liberal Arts) in which I was enrolled said they would evaluate my Radcliffe course units to determine my status, & told me to wait until March. So, when these forms arrived, I knew something had been going on. What had been going on I'll never know, but they decided I was a student seeking graduate status, & tried to locate me -- thru G.W.! It turned out also that the college didn't know it had to formally request the administration for an evaluation, & an old-timer got a lot of satisfaction out of informing the college dean on page 24, paragraph 4, it said so & so. I probably will never get the B.S., but it helps in job
