application (to Bureau of Standards, I found in Feb.) if you are nominally seeking a degree.

It is quite a way to June & we don't know when we'll be there.

Saturday & Sunday nights our big event was the Opera "Boris Godunov" by Mussorgsky. It was to presented on the college movie house, Sun. night (25ยข movies), so our Russian teacher assembled as many students as she could Sat. night & lectured to us on the Russian history of that period, the composer & composition, etc.: very well. The movie, Russian-made in "magicolor", their technicolor, was really excellent. We'd never seen a really good Russian movie -- the classic movies are heavy & dull. I was happy to catch words here & there. It is Jack's favorite opera, & we bought it a year ago. It occurs at the time of Shakespeare & Pushkin[[strikethrough]]s poetry [[/strikethrough]], upon [[strikethrough]] which [[/strikethrough]] whose poetry it was based, was much influenced by Shakespeare. It is really like Richard II, also Macbeth, a most moving tale of a doomed monarch. Maybe you or Sophy would see if it came your way, which it probably won't.

Sounds as if Holmes led a strange "life."

Love,
Doris

P.S. Enclosed is handkerchief we found in washing machine last week - twice cleaned.
