green lettuce every day at noon, with cucumbers for Jack and celery, peppers, leeks, radishes for both of us. A fresh tossed salad is very good and spring-like.

The washing machine & dryer are whining away next door. Mrs. Kreunis is certainly cleanly - 2 or 3 washes a day! I am surprised at the hardiness of those machines, which have been tended by women with families at almost the rate of 3 runs a day for years. The noise doesn't bother me, but I have to be careful when I put my 2 loads/week in.
