1007 West Oregon Urbana, Illinois January 16, 1956 Dear folks, Glad to hear that things are going better and less rushed. I hope Dad's office is sorry! Now it looks as if our last exam would be Thursday a.m., January 24; we will probably start night after that. We may have a passenger, who wants to go to N.Y. & will leave us in Pa. (if she can't get a ride all the way there) -- a girl in Jack's physics class & her baby. So it may be a jolly ride. Will probably take the turnpike to avoid the worst of the mountainous patches -- those going over Negro & Polish mountains (the worst). We'll talk about the summer when we get there. We can live at the co-op of course. We heard from them today that the house is in good financial shape & almost full of people. If we live with you folks we would probably do more chores (and, of course, share the food bill). I hope you don't try too big a garden venture (if any) -- that's back breaking at any age. I suggest you polish up on your driving, to relieve Dad of the grocery shopping, mother. Jack is quite eager for me to learn to drive so I can take over shopping as much as Dad does.
