Dear Friend:

In regard to the application from Cumberland Co. I have no other information than is contained in the bare statements in my letter to Mr. Leiber. I will write for fuller information to Capt. Connelly at once.

The enclosed communication asking for schools at Clarksville & Boydton furnishes all the information I have in answer to your second inquiry- in regard to a location for two or three lady teachers. 

Mr. Whiting had previously written me in reference to the wants of Clarksville and Scottsburg and I referred the letter to Rev. Mr. Murphy who is acting for the O.S. Presbyterians and is establishing a school at Amelia C. Ho. I enclose for your information the letter of Mr. Whiting and the reply of
