Rev: J.H. Chapin

Dear Sir.

Yours of the 2d inst is received.

The "Bakery Buildings" will be held for your society. I think Barracks can be obtained for the purpose of placing them in repair.

I cannot think your society would wrong any one of its agents unintentionaly, hence I am led to the conclusion that your committee has good grounds for its action, with which I am unacquainted.

Mr. Chase is I understand making an inspecting tour through the southern part of the state. I offered him transportation, if he would act also in behalf of the Bureau on this duty, but he declined to do so.

I will see that the Buildings are kept until you are ready to send an agent to the field. We reserve, as was understood, a house for Labratory teachers, if required.
