Miss M. A. Howe
Skowhegain [[Skowhegan]] Me.

My Good Friend:

I meant to have seen you before you left, to make an inquiry, which I must now make by writing. The inquiry is whether, in case the school at the old 1st Church should be taken up by the Boston or the National Society (most likely the latter) you would return to your old position under a commission from that Soc! I do not yet know, of a certainty, whether the church will allow a school there; and I have not been authorized to ask this question of you. I do it purely of my own mind and in order to save time, when other points are noted. I shall certainly recommend the soc. which may maintain schools there to employ yourself and two or three of the best of your associates. Which are they?

Very, Respy
