Dear Sir: Your Ass'n has an interest in the erection of a Normal or "Training School" for teachers in this city beyond what belongs to the intrinsic merits of the case, and beyond that of any other Branch of the Commission. It is thus:— The location selected for that Institution is just across the street from your own buildings. Your house would thus become the home of the teachers of that Institution, and the permanent value of your place be increased. The "cream" of the colored people send their children to pay schools. What ever should give dignity and interest to the Navy Hill location would improve the character of the patronage your schools would receive.

The intrinsic importance of the enterprize I shall not [[?]] here, and will only say that the evidences multiply, every day, that the great demand of the parties is to be for colored teachers — indeed
