Dec. 11 66
Brevet Maj. J. H. Stone, Sup 2d Dist
Maj:
I have the honor to inform you that your school report for November has not been recd at this office. Gen Howard imperatively demands the report of the State Sup Education by the 15th of each month. This demand cannot well be met unless the district reports are recd here as soon as the 10th.
There is no good reason why the teachers may not make up their reports on the last day of the month; and in view of the financial aid and general protection which the Bureau extends to schools, it is at likely to demand a prompt rendering of their statistics. It is expected that these reports will embrace exact or approximate returns of all that is being done, by all agencies, public and private in form of schools (both workday and [[?]]) for the intellectual elevation of the Freedmen.
I am very respy (by order of Gen O Howard)
