Rev Command Kennedy
Cor. Sec-

Dear Sir:

I am glad to learn that you are to send teachers to Abingden.

Captain C.S. Shaeffer, Asst. Sup. (Bureau) writes from Christiansburg, Mongomery Co., that a committee of Colored citizens from Neck Creek, Pulaski Co. had called on him, asking that a teacher might be sent them. They have built a school house on land of their own. A teacher can board either at Mr. John Homes or at Mr. Hoge Taylers. I infer that these are white people and that, therefore, a white teacher can board with them.

Hoping you will be able to meet this call also

I am very Resp'y
