Rev. Grammond Kennedy
Cor. Sec.

Dear Sir,
Mr. Stockwell thinks he can furnish a number of competent colored teachers from the number who are employed here as assistant teachers. I agree that they are competent for primary schools in the country, and if they can be employed at low wages, so that the successful ones can be encouraged by an advance, it is well to try them.

I am glad of your purpose to visit Richmond, believing that you will get useful information and do good by your presence.

I have rec'd the check you sent, and forwarded my rec't direct to Mr. Davidson.

Yours Truly
R.M. Manly
