Dear Friend:  I write to solicit the appointment of Miss Sarah L Daffin as teacher at Ashland -- 18 miles from Richmond on the Fredrickburg R.R.--  That place had a large school last year, supported by the Baptist Home Miss Soc  That society does not support teachers this year. Ashland is an important point, convenient to this place, as that the Sup. of your work here could have the oversight of that; and I judge Miss Daffin to be well qualified for the job.
