Rev. J. N. Randall

Dear Sir:

A teacher is wanted for Ashland, 16 miles from this city.

Col. Ayers, the Bureau offices there assures me that the colored people there will board a teacher comfortable and make up not less than ten dollars and perhaps on high as twenty per month beside. The teacher will have the full sympathy and aid of Col. Ayers. I hope you will. send a first rate man. As soon as the man has been designated, you should address Gen. Howard asking for transportation from your place to Ashland, and as soon as the transportation reaches you forward the teacher.
