Rev. I. N. Rendall
Pres. Lincoln University

My Dear Sir:

I have a letter from a reliable man in Nelson informing me that the colored people near Greenfield in that county have erected a school house and want a teacher. They expect to board a teacher and pay him $20 per month besides for about six months from the first of March. This they promise - of course I cannot give a personal pledge for the fulfillment. The teacher should go by the Orange and Alexandria R.R. from Washington and leave the car at Afton, Nelson Co. and go on foot or find a private conveyance eight miles to Mr. James Woods, a gentleman living near Greenfield.

If you can send a teacher please let me know at once.

Very Respfy -

R. M. Manly
