Rev. [[Ph?]] G. Murphy

Dear Sir:
I believe I have not replied to yours of the 22d Ult. I am now able to reply definitely and have recommended the appropriation you ask for.
In regard to other places desiring school-houses; assistance will be rendered where the maintenance of a school is certain and not elsewhere - and even then sum [[?]] for must not be large.
I expect to be able, by an outside charity, to aid to a limited extent, feeble schools that could not otherwise continue in being, or come into being. If you know of places where there is a good field, and a good teacher, but where the school cannot go for want of a little help- say about 25 per month for each pupil estimated on the average attendance, let me know giving all the particulars.
Very Respy-
