Mrs. E. D. Cheney

Maj. Morse Bureau Offices of the Dist. embracing Charlottesville has been ordered to rent the ground on which the school house stands as Charlottesville and to make all necessary repairs for the [[?]] of the building and the comfort of the pupils. The only contingency that remains is in connection with renting the land. Miss Garchres had better at once communicate with Maj. Morse in regard to the repairs giving her ideas of what is necessary.

I hope you are to send a worthy helper for Miss Canedy in the Normal School.

If you do so I am helping and expecting ^ that the whole expense will not rest on you. I am making application to the city for aid and have reason to think it will meet with power: if not, however, I shall ask Dr. Sears for some Peabody work,
