Sep 14 Mr. J.R. Stone Sub Asst Com'r Dear Sir: I do not think Gen Brown would approve so large an expenditure on the Pocahontas School under the altered circumstances. That appropriation was made with the view of accommodating a large school with two teachers and especially to do the Bureau's part liberally to encourage a system of public schools. If out buildings without much fencing are very needful and can be furnished at much less expense than the appropriation, I shall be happy to approve an appropriation for that purpose. Very Respy R.M.
