Miss Collins For Miss Parsons to ask anything at your hands is rather "cool" in view of her very bad opinion of "you all". She says hard things of your treatment of her, Miss Scott and others, and declares that the Malone people and Miss Scott's auxiliary are dreadfully angry with you. She stated explicitly not a week ago that while you refused Miss Scott transportation, you undertook fraudulently to sell her (Miss Scott) government transportation &c (When I say "you" I mean your society and not any individual) Miss Brown has not been away from Richmond during the summer. She has enjoyed board in a private family about a mile from our house and designs teaching near where she is. She has corresponded actively during the vacation with the A.M.A. and the N.E.Br. and with the Malone people. Not being employed by the two former, she has succeeded in exciting the sympathies of her Malone friends. She read me a portion of letter from them in which they said that what they did, they did for her and would for no one else. After she told me that they had determined to support her here. I assigned her that place -- the only one left -- for [[?]] to labor in.
