Dear Sir:
Genl Brown has handed me your Personal letter of the 12th inst for attention to that part which relates to schools.
The one thing first of all to be known is what about a teacher and the support of a school. Have you a teacher in view for Boydton and the support for one provided? Without this it is not worth the while to talk about building a school house. With it we will talk fast and to the purpose. If no such provision is now made, how much could be depended on from patrons of the school toward its support if a teacher is sent from the north.
Truly yours
